What are people saying about 95.7 The Bridge?

My music tastes are very eclectic, and I channel surf some, but I spend quite a bit of time on your station because of the mix of old and new that gets played.  Moving here from the cities meant I could no longer listen to Cities 97 Acoustic Sunrise on Sunday mornings, but I found your Acoustic time slot, as well as Songs from the Deep (I don't think that's the right name, but you know what I mean!)
Anyway...............THANK YOU!!!
Kathy “the New Duluthian” and Photographer with Teddy Bear Portraits

That Ward from Silver Bay sure was lucky to win those tickets to see Gordon Lightfoot perform at the DECC! I got a seat way toward the back.  I love it when I hear one of his songs come on the radio; especially love hearing you play Carefree Highway.  Will you also play something from his newest CD, Harmony?
-Patti, Lake Nebagamon, WI

Hi:  I'm wondering if I can listen to "The Bridge" on my computer?  If so, can you tell me how to do this? I LOVE you're station.  I don't listen to anything other than this one.
Jane

Hello!
I was wondering if you are ever planning on having people be able to listen to your station on-line.  I really enjoy listening to The Bridge, and would love to be able to do so during the day at work!    Thanks for your time!
Brianne

Sunday mornings are the best. I always wondered what some of the words were, and with the acoustic version it is all so clear.  It is like hearing a new song, almost.  Its great.
Donna

The Deep End is a great show. All around, the type of music I like. Seems like contests and giveaways are mentioned on the radio to appear on the web, but I don’t seem to see that on the site. I guess the website is a little confusing, but I'm getting more used to it. I guess I was looking for a link for contests or something like that? I really like the concert list. Opening ticket sale dates would be a nice plus.
Thanks,
Tim

Thank You...Thank you
Al (my Husband) and I look forward to Sunday Mornings so we can listen and enjoy what you are playing.     I think the dog likes it too.    Keep up the good work.
Barb -Two Harbors

The Acoustic Sundays and The Deep End are great shows. We appreciate that each song and artist is named and commercials are the number of commercials are reasonable. Kudos! Cheers!
Dusty and Wendy in Superior

I’m not liking the Acoustic Sundays. Kinda boring music. Sorry, but you wanted peoples opinions..
Sundays are usually my cleaning days and i like the fast paste music to clean to.
thnx    Wendy

I am a rather new person to Northwest Wisconsin and I began listening last year and since then no other radio stations attract my attention. I am from Milwaukee and this station makes me feel at home. Awesome DJS and awesome musical programs, without too many commercials. Keep doing a fantastic job.
Mark

Tim:
Just wanted to say I really appreciate the Sunday morning show. Your show and the Deep End

with Nick Michaels comprise some of the best programming on radio in the Twin Ports.
Was wondering if we might hear from some of the  other troubadours of our time- Michael Johnson,
Shawn Phillips, David Wilcox, John Gorka, etc.

             Thanks for the listening pleasure.

Thank You...Thank you

Hello,
I tuned in to your acoustic Sunday morning show last week, and loved it. We really needed something like this in the Twin Ports. Keep it up; we'll be listening every Sunday morning. Nice show!
Tolga Duluth, MN

Hello -
I am from the Hermantown area now and have lived in Duluth all my life. I enjoy listening to your station and have gone into many businesses to find that they are tuned into your station. Keep up the great spirit - Life is only as good as you make others feel.
Wendy Hermantown

Hey folks, love the music but I wonder, since you have four decades of music ya think you could play a bit more of a variety. I am basically hearing the same play list every day. There are some exceptions but it is the same old stuff. I had to request the End of the Line, since then I have not hear that one. I bet you got stuff growing mushrooms in the stack of the wax in the back of the racks that you don’t even know you have. Dig, dig, dig, and add about 50 or 60 tunes to your play list and you will wow The Reverend. I’m sorry I failed to include some important points. I fully appreciate the less talk, more music, identify the song and artist routine. I also totally love the fact that nobody is talking over the music because they feel that the lead or trailing end of a tune is unimportant. Nothing sounds worse to me than a radio person talking over the music. Do they think that is cool? I had the opportunity to be a DJ on the USS NIMITZ and I hardly spoke at all, and never while music was playing. So thanks for the good things you do on air. Happy Holidays! Have a very Merry Christmas and a most prosperous new year.

A fairly new listener.

Reverend Fred

Hi, I thought the gig at Barkers Island was really great!!!! The sound, the conversation everything was superb. Tommy (Farrell) sounded great, I am so glad that you had him on, he is so talented.

I am looking forward to you having Tommy play more; he should have his own segment every month. Just a thought, I might be biased…..
Nice work!!!!
.....Laurie of Duluth

Tim,
Heard this guy a while ago on the campus station, and he might be a good addition for the Bridge Acoustic Sunday Morning.

His name is Corey Carlson

He is Minnesota based, and does have his stuff on myspace.

That's AWESOME!!! Thank you so much! I love the variety on your station and listen every day. The poinsettia will brighten my parent's holiday!

Hi! I live in the Twin Cities but my husband & I really love your station when we go I35 up north to Duluth & beyond...

Hi.  My name is Diana.  I am a caterer here in Duluth.  I just want to thank you for playing such great music, especially early in the morning.  I recently catered breakfast for a business and was up at 2:00 a.m. one day and 3:00 a.m. the next day.  I had your station on my radio at those times and the selection of music was great!  It really helps to have good music playing while I’m cooking that early in the morning.
Thank you again.

The variety is awesome and pleases everyone at the same time.

Amanda

Hey Tim!
I saw on Duluthnewstribune.com that you won the Most Romantic award in the celebrity dance competition.  Wow!  What a great award to win.  It’s a major award… did you receive a leg lamp as your prize?  J  If so – make sure you put it in the front window for all the neighbors to see your major award.
 Liz

Tim-     Love the not so new format. We really enjoy listening!! I think it is great that you are playing some music that is never played on the radio!! The variety is AWESOME!    What can I say but Thank you!!!!!!!!       Duluth loves their Bridge!!!
Michelle         Minnesota Power

I'm in southern Minnesota and would like to listen to your broadcast. How do I do that on your web page? I can't find a listen now link.

Mark

Thanks for the great music selection tonight.  I'm at work---every little bit helps to get throughout  the day.  You're my go-to station.  Thanks!
 Unknown

USED TO LISTEN TO ONLY COUNTRY.....THEN I GOT SICK OF THE SAME SONGS AT THE SAME TIMES EVERYDAY....WHEN YOU HEAR ONE SONG TWICE IN AN 8 HOUR SHIFT AT WORK I KNEW IT WAS TIME TO CHANGE THE CHANNEL.......THAT WAS OVER A YEAR AGO AND IM LOVIN' THE BRIDGE....KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK............
SHERRY

I love the music, the variety and having each and every song identified!!  Listen to Jenny every day at work!  Awesome job!
Thanks so much,
Sarah in Duluth

Do you change your Genre during the day?  It’s seem you play awesome contemporary music like Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Paul McCartney, etc…..then you turn to this unknown to the real world Rock - which I nor my co workers can’t ID any of the music and we end up switching to Country which we hate.  We have even got up to check if the radio station has been changed……can you explain the difference?  We would listen to you 24/7 if it stayed as it has this morning…..we really do enjoy it.
Lisa

Hey, Your station rocks!! Every time I'm in the cities, my radio is always on 95.7 The Bridge!    Can you help me???    I need some tickets to Lifehouse at the Minneapolis State Fair!! I am taking this girl that I'm trying to start dating, and I need some help. We both are awesome fans of Lifehouse, so tickets would totally rock my world, and hopefully, in the end, help me "get the girl!" Thanks sooo much!

HELLO     I AM KENNY WEATHERLY,I LIVE IN RICHMOND, INDIANA.ITS ABOUT 85
MILES FROM INDIANAPOLIS.I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I REALLY ENJOYED YOUR STATION.I WAS IN DULUTH VISTING FAMILY AND FRIENDS ON VACATION WHEN I FOUND YOUR GREAT STATION ON THE RADIO.  I LISTENED TO IT THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE. ITS AWESOME. IT   WAS ONE GREAT SONG AFTER ANOTHER. I COULD REALLY TELL THAT  THE DJ'S REALLY TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR JOBS.     I LIKED THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NOT ALOT OF COMMERCIALS.I  ENJOYED YOURSTATION SO MUCH I THOUGHT I WOULD WRITE AN EMAIL AND LET YOU ALL KNOW WHAT A GREAT JOB YOUR DOING. PUTTING TOGETHER A GREAT STAFF AND A GREAT VARIETY OF MUSIC MUST  HAVE TAKEN A LONG TIME AND ALOT OF HARD WORK, WHICH SHOULD BE RECONIZED.       YOUR STATION MUST MAKE IT HARD FOR ALL THE OTHER STATIONS TO  COMPETE WITH YOU.I WANTED TO SEE IF YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SEND  ME A STICKER,T-SHIRT, OR ANY OF YOUR PROMOTIONAL THINGS.SO I AM  ABLE TO SUPPORT SUCH A GREAT STATION. ANYTHING  AT ALL WOULD  BE JUST AWESOME AND I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL.THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY DAY TO READ MY EMAIL AND I HOPE   THAT YOU WILL PLEASE RESPOND.
KENNY

Hello, your station is very good but you should really give a little more focus on music in the 80’s,that stuff from the 60’s and 70’s is really overplayed, you’ll find the 80’s will give you A LOT of variety.     Thanks
MARIA

Please go online with your great music station
Doug.

Thank you, Thank you Thank you!   I was thrilled to actually hear a John Denver song on the radio today.  Please give me more.
Thanks again,
Bruce

Tim,            My wife and I have come to really enjoy your show.  Like you, I moved up here from The Cities  -  about 2 1/2 years ago.   When  The Bridge  started this format I stumbled upon the station and listened often in the car.   But at home was another issue.   We had a heck of a time finding a morning show for our clock radio.   I think I tried  95.7  once, and it didn't come in clearly or something.  I really can't say why I haven't had it on The Bridge until recently.  Anyway, we tried 3 or 4 diff. stations and nothing was perfect. ( In St Paul we used to wake up to WCCO-AM.   Granted, I am over 45 yrs old [I think of myself as being in my late 20's] but I swore 35 years ago I would never be old enuff to listen to 'CCO like my folks did.   Well their morning show was perfect for us.  Humor, weather, traffic, news ...............)           So when the last radio station perturbed me in the morning I switched channels to 95.7 and it has been just great for the last month or so.    Good music, variety of styles, no screaming or stupid "bits", and succinct weather reports.    I also like the fact you announce every song.   This week you played a McCartney & Wings song  (Neptune and Mars ?) that I had never heard before.  Thanks.     I recognized the group, and I am serious enough about music to have called you later to find out what the song was.  So thank you for saving me (and yourself) the trouble.          Here is my only complaint and a question.   I think some of the songs played between 5:00 and 5:45 are not morning songs, they are too harsh or too raucous.  Sorry I can't think of a concrete example, but I think there was a Stones song and a CCR song recently that got to me.     Who does your programming???     When is the playlist for each morning established?    I would love to do that someday.   I would match songs to time of the day (Good Day Sunshine,  Here Comes the Sun ...) and would like to also match to weather conditions.      If you want suggestions I will oblige.    If you want me to tell you when a song doesn't fit I can do that too.
Ron

We love ya!! My kids, foster kids and i dance to you everyday. Thanks for making them smile
JODI

HELLO,

  • I thought I heard that on Sundays you now have an acoustic program is that true and if so, what time?    Thank you,
    Cindy
BRIDGENOTE:  The Bridge Acoustic Sunday Morning is every Sunday morning from 10AM to Noon.

Hey,      Is your play list available on line?  I ask because my 10 year old boy was listening last night (Monday October 15, 2007) somewhere between 9:00 and 10:30 and heard a song he really liked but all he could remember was that is was called Mona Lisa something.    Being the dutiful father, I am trying to hunt it down.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  • Garry          Duluth, MN
BRIDGENOTE:  The song was Elton John’s “Mona Lisas and Madhatters”.

Good Morning!!!  Got tixs for Excel and I can't get enough BRRUUCCEE!

Hello, I'm a 35 year old high school teacher and coach up in Silver Bay.  I've been a big Gordon Lightfoot fan my entire life.  I've emailed the DECC a handful of times over the past 3 years asking them to bring back Gordon Lightfoot.  Now he's finally coming back and I'm pretty fired up about it.  I'm wondering how I can get a quick picture with him and his autograph.  I'm also wondering if it's possible to get REALLY good seats for my wife and I.  She's due to have our 3rd daughter in November.  I'm thinking this would be a fun night out for us before things really crazy.  I know I can wait until Saturday morning to get tickets through Ticketmaster, but I'm really hoping to get VERY close.  I'm just not sure I'll be able to get them through Ticketmaster.  Even if that's not possible, I'm still wondering how to get his autograph and possibly a picture.
    Thanks,
    Ward       Silver Bay
BRIDGENOTE:   Ward ending up winning tickets to the show!

Keep playing all the great tunes!  :-)
    Troy "DAWG"

Hi guys!      Just got back from a stay in Duluth on Canal Park Lodge..very nice).  Wanted you to know that we spent most of the car time listing to your station and enjoy(ed) it a ton.  Big question.  Is your broadcast streaming online?  I can't seem to find a link.  I sure hope so.       Best regards,
    Dan,    Lakeville, MN

Hi Tim ~       How you doing Buckaroo?  Life here on the point is good...  It will be better when summer decides to arrive though and I can take advantage of the beach once again.        Hey, I had an idea...  How about the Bridge doing "Bridge Alerts"...  By that I mean notifying listeners of the times when a large Great Lakes ship is coming through, and when we'll get "bridged" as a result?      www.boatnerd.com might have some info for times of arrival & departures or 218-722-6489   I hope all is going well...  I love the programming on the stating... Keep on cranking out the fabulous tunes!    Have a fabulous day!
    Malissa  :-)

Tim,      We're from the Twin Cities and anytime we get to about Hinckley, we turn on The Bridge and leave it on as far North as the signal will go.  My wife and I love the variety of songs, and seemingly, very few commercials.  We don't feel we have a comparable station here in the cities.  We'd love to be able to listen from the TC's!      Thanks!  Let me know if you meet with any success and we'll let our friends in the TC's know!
    Kevin

Special thanks for your station and format!
Finally, a station that my 13year old daughter and I can agree on...she is "very today" in her music preferences, however she was raised on the classics. She knows everything from Boston - to BILLY JOEL!
    You guys are terrific!
    Mary
ps...we are also really looking forward to the Movies in the Park coming up this summer - we WILL have summer, won't we??!!

I found your radio station quite by accident (love the seek button). I love the music you play and truly appreciate the variety and knowing who sings it. I don’t want to hear the same 20 songs all day!

This listener is happy that you’re continuing the same. You have a terrific radio station-keep up the GREAT work!

    Pam

Just wanted to let you know we love hearing the artist and the name of the song, it is so important. We have a huge record collection and knowing the artist and name of the song we hear makes it easier to see if we have that particular song, instead of saying "who sang that"?.

Have a great day, Your Faithful listener,

    Judy

    Hello!

I just took the Movies in the Park poll to vote for what I think should play, and I must tell you that I believe THE MIGHTY DUCKS must be one of the movies. It is my all time favorite movie in the whole wide world and I know every single line from all three of them and it would make me so incredibly happy if you would play that.

    Thanks So Much!

    Kerri

I found your radio station last summer, when I was vacationing in Iron River, WI, and I love it. I live in Milwaukee, WI. Am I able to listen to 95.7 The Bridge through my computer? If not, do you have any future plans for online live listening? Thank you so much

(from a listener interested in a Bridge Stream online)

I spend an enormous amount of time on one of my Macintosh computers (three on a

network) and typically listen to mp3 files. But, particularly early in the morning, I've taken to streaming kexp.org, the University of Washington station out of Seattle. I also stream a couple other stations, one classic rock and the other all Stones. I'd like the option of streaming your station so I can also get some local news and weather. I haven't used my stereo components for more than a year, because I've got to crank the volume way up to hear tunes in my office. And I don't feel like running extra speakers. If the phone rings, I have to run into the living room to lower the volume.

I live in Carlton and will be working 80-hour weeks at least until the tax season ends. By the way, I'm a mostly retired old fart who graduated from UMD in 1970. Thanks.

    Chuck in Carlton

I just had to drop you guys a note to tell you how much we enjoy The Bridge.

I work in a warehouse and although there's only 4 of us out here, we just can't ever agree on music. One morning a couple weeks ago I stumbled onto this station. It's great. Everything is up-bet. There's such a varitey in the music. I have my husband hooked on it and I keep you tuned into the car too. I don't usually have music on in my vehicle, but this station is an exception.

Keep up the great music. It's up lifting, and keeps us motivated all day long,

    Thanks
    Make it a good day.
    April

Just wanted you folks to know that while I'm against the trend in one size fits all broadcasting, I like your station very much. The two reasons being 1) your lack of sarcastic taped comments in between segments & 2) you have dug up some one hit wonders & lesser known music/ b sides that I haven't heard or thought about in eons! Please keep up the good work, particularly on that second matter. AND DON'T START REPEATING STUFF TOO MUCH! Thank you for your time, Lisa H.

The statistics on sanity are that one in every four people is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends....... if they're okay then it's you.

Tim, I love the music, the staff is great, there is no other station out there that can compete, you guys have everything to make a great day, I try to have your station on 24 hours, but the wife tells me to turn it down when I go to bed, ;-) So I crank it up, when the wife leaves in the morning. Keep playing the good oldies— Scott

Hello!! I just want to drop you a note and let you know how much I enjoy the great variety of songs that you play. You really offer programming that is "office friendly" as well as suitable for family (kids) without having to worry about lyrics being out of line. Whenever the Bridge advert comes on(the one where the bell rings to begin the ad), my middle daughter(4yrs old), chimes in and says "95.7 the Bridge!". Keep doing what you are doing. Thanks - Glen

More Huey Lewis and the News! Ben in Duluth

    Hey Tim!!!
I have just returned to my commuting job with Qwest in St. Paul I leave town usually by 8a.m. & don't return until late Fri. night or early Sat. mornings...
I am able to still listen & enjoy the Bridge music on my way down & back & of course during my weekends. Take Care, Betsy St.Paul/Duluth

Love the Jenny Lawrence Show. What a great voice she has. I listen every day.

I tune you in when in Duluth but how can I listen on line. I don't see anywhere in your website to "listen on line" Help-help. Greg in Duluth

I wanted to thank you for playing music that I really like. I run my own
business and usually forget to turn on the radio in the morning, however
when I slow down and take the time to try to get reception (I live out in
the boondocks) I turn on 95.7. Your station comes in clearer than any others
I've listened to by the way. 8am to 9:30am is the only time I'm around the
radio and the tunes you play are awesome!! Don't get me wrong, I love AC/DC
and Pearl Jam , but you've found a great selection of music that sings about
hope, those songs of the 70's and 80's bring back great memories. Add some
of the "genius" of Pearl Jam , "romance" of AC/DC, a touch of "rebellious"
Train and some wild spirited Judas Priest and in my opinion you'll have the
greatest station I have ever listened to. I'm sure you probably do play
those artists throughout the day, I may need to start wearing a head set.
One of those little perks of being self employed!
    Pam

Lighthouse - WOW! A delight to hear. Please keep in mind there are many fellow Canadians down in this area & to hear Stampeders, Streetheart, Chilliwack & many others is a superb treat - and the tunes are great too!
    Shawn
    Duluth

I have to tell you, I don't think I've ever heard about 95 percent of the songs played on the Bridge; maybe you're not looking for "old" listeners; but I wouldn't mind hearing some Buddy Holly, Everely Bros., Roy Orbison and Bo Diddley thrown in once in a while. Thanks.
It's really refreshing to know a radio station wants suggestions from listeners; and you play such a big variety. I'm sick of the same songs, over and over again on other stations and the continual talking. So here are just a couple suggestions:
You already play CCR - - SUPER
Anything by Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Fogerty (Blue Moon Swamp), Islands in the Stream by Dolly, Me and Bobby Mcgee by Janis, My Baby Don't Wear No Panties by Mean Gean Kelton (I am partial to Blues). I don't like to hear anything depressing and sappy like: Teen Angel or Patches; thanks for playing some great music.
    Nesty

    Hello,

Last night my family and I enjoyed a wonderful evening on the Tour of Lights!!, Words cannot express what an awesome evening was had by all. The weather was perfect and Heidi gave us a wonderful tour! My mom, who is 86, enjoys a drive to look at the Christmas lights and this year she did it in style thanks to your tour of lights!!! Stopping at Julie’s was a treat with a wonderful gift bag and some hot cocoa.

Thank you again for providing such a wonderful gift in the tour of lights, our Holiday started out great!!! Merry Christmas!! Mary

Hi Tim, I wanted to let you know that my family really had fun on our limousine ride last night. We enjoyed the treats from Julie's Restaurant, and it was so nice that we could all see the beautiful Christmas lights in the area and nobody had to drive. Thanks so much! Lynn

    Hey Tim,
I'm looking for the titles of two songs. The first is by Chris Issack, part of song goes like this " oh I want to fall in love with you" The second I'm not sure who it is by or title but it goes like this "oh won't you stay just a little bit longer" Any help would be great.
    JIM

BRIDGENOTE: The songs are " Wicked Games" by Chris Issack and "The Load Out/Stay" by Jackson Browne

    Hi Tim,
Just wanted to give a quick Congratulations on your 1st Anniversary of
    the Bridge!
Keep up the great music selections!
    Jill

Excellent radio station, great music, great staff, way to go, keep up the good work!
    Brenda

Hey Jenny ( Lawrence), whats up with you. I am just calling to
commend you and the staff with a great Station. I recently broke-up with
my bride-to-be of five years. I don't know exactly what happened, but we
broke up. I was hoping that you could maybe play "Love Hurts" by
Nazarath. That would be great if you could get that on the air Thank You.
    Brian

  • Dear Bridge and Julies ( Restaurant)

A fun Time was Had by ALL
Thank you for the Great Evening Out on the Town. Despite the rain and fog We all had a really Fun Time. It was nice to sit back and Relax and enjoy the sights ,and the company and conversations.
Everyone is always so rushed during the Holiday season. It was nice to take the time to enjoy being with each other. The Hummer Limo ride and Driver were pretty COOL also.

    Thankyou, Thankyou Thankyou.
Thankyou to Julies for the NICE Treat Bags and Gift Certificates.
We will all be in to Enjoy them.

    Thanks
    Char Superior WI
(Bridge Note: Char was a winner of the Bridge Tour of Lights)

POSITIVE: nice upbeat variety of pop tunes. Cheery, relaxing announcers! Best in the area, hands down.

NEGATIVE: Billy Joel & Elton John, hourly. Hey Jude/Let It Be too often. Expand beyond Top #10 hits, hearing tracks within Top#40 would be a TREAT. If it charted, it must be worth playing - more variety is possible.

    Don

I listen to your station daily while I am getting ready for work and also on my way to and from work, I love the variety of music you play. I only have a problem with one thing and that is the talk show part Sunday Am, Boring, would rather listen to music that half hour while getting ready for work.
    Judy
(BRIDGENOTE: The half hour program on Sunday morning, beginning at 5:00, called "Access Minnesota", is a review of government and social issues, and helps the Bridge fufill the Federal Communications Commision requirement of every radio station to provide public service programming.)

HELLO, JUST WANTED TO SAY I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR RADIO STATION AND THE MUSIC SELECTION. IT IS PERFECT FOR WORK AND THE SONGS ARE DIFFERENT EVERYDAY. I ALSO WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO WIN TICKETS TO THE HAUNTED VISA STAR CRUISE. MY HUSBAND AND I HAD A GREAT TIME LAST FRIDAY, THE FOOD FROM SAVORIES WAS AWESOME AND THEY HAD A FUN HAUNTED HOUSE SET UP TOO. WE WON THE PUMPKIN DESIGN CONTEST AND TOOK HOME A $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE. SO, THANK YOU AGAIN!!

    SINCERELY, DAVE AND GINNY

(Bridgenote: Ginny and Dave won a Vista Cruise, dinner, and Renegade Comedy Theater production on Halloween)

    Dear Bridge,
My request is: Im not sure what the song is called or the the artist but its like a blues ballads song set back around the 60s or 70s. There's an organ in the background with drums in a slow rhythem and the lead singer says in the end of the song "tell me whyyyyyyyy!" can you email me that song and the artist if you have any idea what im talking about.
    Thank you,

    Jesse

(Bridge reply:) We're pretty sure the song you are talking about is "Whiter Shade of Pale"
sung by Procol Harem from 1967. Does that sound right? Let me know!
    Thanks for listening!!!

THATS IT!!!!!!!! thank you so much tim for all your help!

    Jesse

I enjoy listening to your station. I think it is the best mix in the Northland.

    Keep up the great job!

    Jim in Duluth

    Good Morning Tim,

Did you watch Dancing with the Stars last night?? It was soooooo good! Sitting at home watching was not quite as exciting as being there in person,,,,,,,,but still exciting to end with a 3-way tie!!

Tonight's episode is going to be so bittersweet. It's going to be hard to see any of them leave.
    Stay tuned!

    Jill
(Bridgenote: Jill Lekatz of Two Harbors, her husband and son won a trip from the Bridge in October to Los Angeles to be in the studio audience of Dancing With The Stars on ABC).

HELLO, JUST WANTED TO SAY I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR RADIO STATION AND THE MUSIC SELECTION. IT IS PERFECT FOR WORK AND THE SONGS ARE DIFFERENT EVERYDAY.
    Dave

Do you have any Jason Mraz in your rotation?
    Love your station!!!
    Kimberly
(Bridgenote: Of Course! Jason Mraz receives considerable airplay on the Bridge. Thanks for listening!)

    Hello to The Bridge!

I am super excited to win Kris Kristopherson tickets! (and I'm
apparently very optimistic!) :-) Thank you so much!

    ~Amber

P.S. Thank you for finally giving Duluth a radio station with ACTUAL
VARIETY!!! I didn't think it was possible to get my eclectic and vast
music taste sqeezed into one radio station, but you have done it... and
successfully!!! I'm super impressed and love listening. Thank you!
(Bridgenote: Amber won tickets in October to see Kris Kristopherson in Hinkley)

    Hi Tim,

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy listening to you and to The
Bridge. You have a great mix of the music I enjoy the most. Thanks for
    being here.

    Rick

    Dear Tim,
I have enjoyed listening to your voice since the KATCO days!
    Keep up the good work.
    Peggy

    Hi KJ,

Weird, but as I was getting towards the airport last Sunday afternoon, I heard a special band on this station, playing an even more special song. Don't hear it much in the US. I have way intimate band knowledge. That's all I wish to say, aside from a Mark Twain-ism....."news of my death are greatly exaggerated".....
Anyway, could you play "Fly At Night" by Chilliwack?

By the way, Jenny said "Chill-ee-wack".....huh-uh, it's Chilliwack, no eee sound, its a city, approx 75km east of Vancouver, BC, where the lead guitar player hails from....

Anyway, did you know this city was the only US destination on a tour
    long long ago???

    trivia rock,
    Kevin

(KJ note:Interesting guy… There’s more to his story.)

    Hi KJ,

Band started in 1970, actually, in Vancouver, Bill Henderson (from Chilliwack) and a couple people with made-up names (Glen Miller - mmm big band, or bass?) (Howard Froese - spelling change for a frozen duck in a pond named Howard - you'd have had to have been there) (Ross Turney - Rusty Ernie was a crazy person who created a nice real name from his crazy nickname, fun, huh?) and Clair Lawrence who was a pretty flute playing person with many musical talents and lots of fun in her. You won't find Howard officially associated with the band, as there were really two different people using the same name from 1970 through 1979 that were all part of something close to the band. Life is funny sometimes, isn't it? And one of the Howard's honestly did pass away in '94. His son is a musician and actually has an album out in Canada. Rock 'n Roll on, baby.....

I know way more than that and wish to keep it that way.....just know that music was a strange business to be in 35 years ago, and not like it is different now, but there was alot different kind of "atmosphere" to live within. Anyways....have fun, keep on rockin' and never stop learnin' new stuff.....

    rock on, Kevin

(Bridgenote: We are convinced Kevin was a member of Chiliwack)

    Hi Tim,

Who is the artist who sings White Bird? Could listen to this melody all day...

    Thanks. Lyle
(Bridgenote: The name of the band that sings "White Bird" is "It's A Beautiful Day")

    Hi Folks,
I'm not sure to whom I am addressing, but I felt motivated to write you.

My name is Bernie Michels, Last week I was visiting a friend in Iron River, WI. I spent the week fishing with my buddies, and enjoying the beauty of the Northland in our great country.
I happened on to your radio station by good luck and pretty much stayed tuned for the week I was there. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your programming.

I'm not sure who selects your play-lists but I thought they were great.

I live about 30 miles from Chicago, Illinois in a town named Aurora. I'm sure you know there is a vast selection of programming to chose from in my area.
I'm 50 now and grew up listening to WXRT in Chicago. They have reinvented themselves a few times over the years and I can't say I am a regular listener anymore. If you guys were broadcasting here I can tell you I would certainly be a regular listener to your station.
Thanks for enhancing what was a very pleasurable week in Iron River! Hopefully I'll be back in the spring and will tune in again. Hope your format doesn't change.

    All the best,
    BJ

    Hey Tim........
I'm home this morning, just getting ready for work and stuff, and in the distance I hear what I THOUGHT was that new Geico commerical featuring the little lizard dancing to Kung Fu Fighting - but no, it was MY FAVORITE RADIO STATION playing such carp.
I believe we discussed this at one time - how it's all about me and stuff - and when I hear songs like THAT particular one, it makes me wonder how much allegiance I can give to MY FAVORITE RADIO STATION. Next you'll be playing Band of Gold, and then I'll have to desert you for other pastures.
Unless that was a special request by someone who has NO taste in music, I'm of the opinion that you should NEVER AGAIN play Kung Foo Fighting on The Bridge.

    really.

    ;)

    Polly

....keep cranking out the good tunes!

I was recently visiting in your area and really enjoyed your music selection. Do you broadcast online? If so, what link?

    Good morning Tim,

I wasn't sure who or how to contact someone at your station so I picked you, and hope you get this. I just found your channel a week ago Saturday and am truly loving it. I can't get enough of it. It brings back the good young days and some more. I have been hooked on country for about 5 years and at the present moment have no desire to listen to it anymore since I found your channel.( I listen at work delivering mail all day) That is one of the reasons I e-mailed you. I also entered your James Taylor contest this week and low and behold I won. I have never won anything on the radio before. I don't even know who called and told me(as I am a new listener and don't know names yet) and also I was way over excited about winning James Taylor tickets. He is one of my favorites. Saw him 2 years ago and was just mesmerized by him. My question to you is, do you guys have the opportunity to meet him before the show. I am wondering, because(I know this is an odd request) I have 5 good gal friends(6 with me) and we have grown up together since we were about 5 years old in Duluth on 56th avenue west and also Central Avenue. About 35 years later we are all still best friends and going strong. My request is if at all possible if you talk to James Taylor, maybe the slightest possibility of him dedicating the song to us You have a friend.(It has so much true meaning to us I can't explain) We have loved it since we were kids and we will all be at the concert that night. You know like they have a Make a wish foundation, this would be my wish for myself and my friends. It would just put the icing on the cake of our friendship. I was always dreaming of getting married someday with them all in my wedding and playing that song to them to let them know how important our friendship is to me.(Never married though) I know we all feel the same way about each other and for some reason God is allowing us all to be at this concert together. We all get busy in our lives and sometimes just don't have time to visit like we should. But if there is ever a problem or situation all's we do is call and come running at the drop of a hat for each other. This would be one of the greatest moments of our lives if this wish came true. Now you probably think I'm nuts, but I thought it was worth a shot.

Thank you for reading my e-mail
Julie(I just hope you get it in time)

I would love to hear more music by "It's a beautiful day"
as this summer we have enjoyed many! A very special day happened last
week. Some friends from the cities and I were relaxing and chilling 'down
by the river' and cranked up the music to 95.7 The bridge. Your music
selections were outstanding and pleasurable for listening and dancing into
the moonlight. How about some river songs? I appreciate your good work
    and music.

Hello! Just requesting a song to be added to your playlist:

Elliott Yamin "Moody's Mood for Love" available on the American Idol 5 Encores album or download from itunes. Amazing song, amazing vocalist.

    Please please please
    and thank you!

    Good morning Tim R,

I just want to say thanks for playing great music.
It made my floor refinishing job a lot more enjoyable.
    Keep up the excellent work.

    your loyal listener,
    Andrew

Why on Earth am I hearing you on my car radio in Asheville NC? You guys must have quite a transmitter :-)

    - Dave, impressed

Just writing because the last time we (boyfriend and I) were in Superior, we found your station and we loved it. We are from Southern Wisconsin so when we go up to Superior we used to hunt for stations that we liked, well no more, we know now what station to turn to as soon as we get close enough to get the station. There are no stations like yours here in Madison. I agree with the one person who said you should stream online. I know if you did we would be listening to you all the time.

    Thanks,

Betty and Scott (Originally from Superior)

    Madison, WI

    I rarely do this but.

A hearty THANKS for finally listening to what radio-listening folks have
griped about for years and letting us hear the music and know who did
    it... Grand!!!

    Jan..

    Great selection this week.
Tuned in and heard White Bird - haven't heard that in years. Keep it up.
Jessie Colin Young - Ridgetop. That'd be a treat!

    Greg

Here's a little e-mail I received from a woman who was looking for the name of a Neil "Diamond" song she heard. Turns out it was Neil Young.

You are correct. Diamond . . . Young . . .no difference there eh? Thank you so very much! BTY I love the new format! Doesn't matter if you advertise the largest music collection (kqds) if you play the same 6 songs every morning from 7-9. Thanks again!

    Kathryn

I've been listening steadily since you went on air...you play music I grew up on, and I have spread the word. Thanks again.

Thanks, 95.7 The Bridge, for hosting the fun Desperate Housewives party!  Great company, good pizza, cold beer, awesome viewing, lots of laughs.....it was a blast!

Hi just wanted to thank you for the wonderful evening! It as good to see you again as well. Really an organized event-I really liked the way you emailed us prior to a few days, & let us know what to expect upon arriving. Even though we did not sit in the main room-you did a great job of making sure we could all hear you through-out the place. Great pizza, prizes, and fun posters/grab bags. A fabulously run event! One thing I wanted to let you know is-now that the bridge has changed its format-I find myself not needing to flip through my radio buttons any more-its a great mix of music! And the web site is awesome as well!
    Thanks again
Nancy (formerly of the late great USA Radio!)

Just home from the Desperate Housewives Party and wanted to say I had a great time. So sorry I didn’t have the chance to bend your ear, but you seem to be quite busy. I did how ever have a chance to talk with the gal who assisted you this evening. Sorry her name escapes right now. Any way just wanted to say…. Congratulations on a successful party.

    Connie

    Hi
We all just wanted to THANK YOU again for lunch today- we don't often
'break' away from the office for lunch, but I think we may try to do that
more often after this great experience!
(but I could use a nap!)

    Hello Bridge Management,

We recently purchased a property in the Duluth area. Hungry for good variety of music, we found your station. You play a variety and the best tunes in the area. We visit our up north home frequently and look to tune in as soon as we get close to Hinkley MN. Wish the Twin Cities had a format that is as good as yours. Keep up the excellent play. Looking forward to the next visit.

    Tim,

We listen to you guys all the time at work here at St Mary's PPA. Some of our requests are silly but they all go with conversations we have here at work. Your station really adds to the fun of our day. Have a great day!

    Shelly

    Hi Tim

Thank you so much for hosting this Desperate houswives is great and how fun for a bunch of us women to gossip about what else men!!!! Yes i will be attending! At this point I have no one to bring, but if that changes is that ok if she just comes on the day with out notice? I am looking forward to the evening.

I enjoyed listening to you on Kat, but it also great to hear you else where they must of needed help at this radio station your great!! I do, however, miss the combo of you and Jon? way back when I can't seem to remember his name you guys were great together.

    Have a nice day!!

    Jeanne

NOTE: Tim Roubik and JOHN CONLIN worked together on KTCO (Kat Country) from 1994 through 1997.

I just wanted to say I love the new format….FANTASTIC! I’m hearing songs on the radio I haven’t heard in AGES…and it sounds great. We play it at work, and can’t get over the variety…I don’t mind hearing the “standard” songs, but I don’t want to hear them 10 times a day! Love the variety…love it, love it, love it. If you guys can keep it up, you’ll be the only station I’ll listen to!

    Kind regards,

    Bruce

(The Bridge sent Bruce some free Subways just for contacting the station)

    Bruce repiled:

    Tim,

Free sandwiches? Go on! I was just trying to help you guys out! Too kind! Now I’m REALLY impressed!

I doubt I could improve on what is already a great thing going. The best I could do is just encourage you to really seriously understand what a KILLER repetition is (for me, anyways). So just keep up the great variety. There’s SO much great music….late 60’s to now….I have to honestly say, for the first week I listened to your station, I don’t recall hearing the same song twice…and that’s when I changed the dial on my “master” radio….the garage radio….which has a dust cover and is a pain in the butt to tune….LOL. I knew you guys had a good thing going. All your big marketing points: variety, identification, and no talk-over score HUGE points with me (and I’ll bet tens of thousands of other folks in your listening area).

Thank you kindly for the sandwiches. Good luck (which I don’t think you’ll need…you’re obviously listening to the right people…).

    Bruce

    Tim,

I had a great time going out to the Hacienda with you (Department of Labor)! Thanks again for the good time. I am going to be honest with you, I never listened to your radio station before we went to lunch, but now it is the only radio station I listen to. Definitely the best radio station in Duluth!

Thanks for creating a “unique radio station” for Duluth to enjoy….

    Amy

I just have to tell you that I am very excited about your new station. You play all good songs and you tell what the name and artist is also. Keep up the good work!

    Sharri

    Hi,

    Great station!

I keep hearing a certain song and was wondering if you could tell me who sings it? Everytime I hear it you must be id-ing it ~before it plays, since your motto is to always id the songs and never play over them. I'm not sure what the title is but it begins "What if God was one of us". I have googled this and get nothing but either Joan Osborne or Alannis Morsette. But it is not on any of their albums.

    TIA
    -mark

NOTE FROM TIM: THE SONG IS "ONE OF US", AND IS, IN FACT, JOAN OSBORN FROM HER ALBUM RELISH

Thank you so much for the chance, you guys are so awesome, yes I still listen and have told many friends to tune in to The Bridge 95.7,,the one and only station for us baby boomers and younger!!

    M.D.

    Hi Tim,

Yes still loving the bridge! I have converted the whole office to listeners as well as friends and family members and we have even got advertising time now on the bridge. Keep up the great station!

    Thanks!

    Krista Smith

I listen to your station every morning on my way to work—I live 30 miles North of Two Harbors so I enjoy your station for a half hour.

    Lou

Love your station. Keep up the great work!

    Elizabeth

I was tuned into your radio station by a friend and my ex-husband. I like the programming. Nice variety and not a whole lot of commercials.

I just checked out your website too and I like the information that's there. I like the community events calendar.

    Very nice indeed!

    Sincerely,

    Ann Boshey

You guys are so awesome, yes I still listen and have told many friends to tune in to The Bridge 95.7,,the one and only station for us baby boomers and younger!!

    Myron

I LOVE this radio station.....you guys play AWESOME music!!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!

    Patti

I had my radio set on 95.7 before, and I was getting ready to reset it to another station, when I started listening to what you were playing. I sure like the variety of the different kinds of music you play. The other stations seem to play the same music selections at the same time of day. You don't. Don't change! Great!!!!!

    Nan

Looking forward to meeting all the on air staff, you guys are great! A nice alternative for "our generation"!

    Lynn Daoust

I am a student at UMD, and well, basically I work at home with my "studying." It feels good. Being a student is a wonderful gig. Sunny days are the best! We rock The Bridge all day long. We feel like we're (me and my roomates) are bridged all day long, because we listen to The Bridge all day long. Which is a lot better than getting bridged, that's kind of annoying. Especially when en route to da beach.

    Eric

Move over DLH radio stations... All of us Parrot heads are perching on the Bridge and we plan on staying here.

Keep on playing the Buffett tunes... All of them!

    Phinz Up!
    Missy

    Hi Everyone at The Bridge,

Thanks again for the great music. Such a variety. I used to switch radio stations, I no longer do. Now I don't have to be in the cities to hear a good station! Thanks!

Smiling to the sound of great tunes,
    Sherry

Awesome station!! Now I don't have to search and seek a different station every time I want an oldie or a newbie,, I've been waiting years for a station like this! It's like this station was made just for me, keep up the great work! I will pass this on to all my friends and coworkers,,,

    Merv

FINALLY I found a station I can listen to all the time without getting bored. Other stations have the same songs every day or are stuck in the 60's. You have a great selection, but with thousands of songs to choose from, that should be a given! Keep it up!

    David

    Superior, WI

    Hello again..........

I must say I'm still enjoying The Bridge - when you can hear songs ranging from Joan Baez to Journey to Three Doors Down, all in the same hour, it's pretty much fun.

But ENUFF of Mellancamp. I mean, really....................someone on your staff must be a BIG fan, but personally, I don't care much for his music. And it's ALL ABOUT ME, don'tcha know ;)

Keep playing Neil Young, Moody Blues, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell......I think I even heard a Jethro Tull song the other day. Too cool........

Thanks for making radio FUN again!

    Polly

Love The Bridge. Listen to it at work everyday. Love the variety of music, especially the 80’s

    Jennifer

I had completely given up on even being able to listen to the radio in Duluth. It was country, talk, religious, repetitive pop/rock, or extremely dull soft rock. There is no better radio station that one that makes you continually smile when you hear a song you haven't heard in a while. Great variety...I'm listening to the radio again - I never thought I would!!

    Tracy
    Duluth, MN

Just started listening to you recently - and am really enjoying it.

    Thanks
    Pat

    Hi,
I really like your format! Tons of good songs, lots of variety.

    Renee,
    Duluth

Alright! Hacienda Del Sol here we come! We listen all the time, love your new format. More music, less commercials.

    Mary

I just thought I'd let you know that several of my coworkers at St. Luke's Hosptial are playing "Guess the artist" while listening to your station. Jennie, Jackie, Jay and Wanda are among the participants. It would be really cool if you mention them sometime this week. They play primarily between noon and 4:30, but listen to your station all day long.

    Thanks,

    Lawrie

I love your radio station. I listen to it all the time at work. Keep playing that great music.

    Carolyn

Thanks for the less talk and the truly BEST Music in the northland

It is about time that someone is following the "OLD" format of letting us know who sang that song:) Love it

Okay, so I click on to Magic one morning....and it's ALL CHANGED...........I listen, and I think "what's going on here??? Am I in another world???"

I LOVE your new format! This is what I've been looking for ....music that's smart, different, relevant to MY memories of what I loved growing up. Such diversity.......IT'S WHAT I'd choose if I RAN A RADIO STATION!

So, keep it up.......play those obscure songs of the 70's & 80's that rocked my world. Steely Dan, Carole King, Boston, even Tears for Fears. Hell, you could throw in some vintage Donna Summer, and I'd kiss the ground you guys walk on ;)

I would love to hear more "old" Carole King......you could play the whole Tapestry album, and I'd think I'd died and gone to heaven! More older Elton John, and JAMES TAYLOR.....Mud Slide Slim in particular.

THANKS for being the radio station that just won my heart. You're bringing back my TEEN years, and I hate to say how long ago that was :)

Love ya, Tim. You are fun to wake up to!

    Hi Tim,

I hope to see you this summer during Grandma's Marathon. But in the mean time I want to comment on the format change. What an excellent choice. For the first time.. in a very long time.. I really want to listen to radio again. Thanks to what you guy's have done. I'm just nuts about the format. Your not just playing the hits, but some of the tunes that did get airplay.. that maybe didn't hit the "Top 10" just one example "Elton John - Harmony"

When this song came on I thought my CD Player kick in..then I realized my radio was on. I thought nobody would ever air this song in my life time unless I owned the radio station. I hope you have over a thousands songs choose from instead of the standard three hundred. What a refreshing choice. All my radios have been change to THE BRIDGE.
    Eddy

    Hi All!

I love your radio station, but radio reception in our building is really bad! Can I listen to you guys on the internet? I've searched your website and can't see a link to listen. If there isn't one...well, I highly recommend it! I just love your music and it makes my days at home go by fast, and would love to listen at work too!

    thanks
    tess

Just a quick note to say I love the new music varity I listen all day ,every day.
    Suzen

Way to go!!! Finally a channel that I don't have to switch. I'm a channel changer and I haven't changed the channel in two weeks.. Not even in the car. Now that's saying something. Keep up the great music and less talk...

    Hi Tim,

I was skeptical at first, but love the new "Bridge". Keep playing those great tunes. Excellent variety!

    Carol

Just a quick note to say...hi...finally the Twin Ports has a station that is really worth listening too! Thanks! Don't change it. No need to go spinnin the dial any longer. Great format!

    JIM

Thanks for the great lunch and limo ride for me and friends @ WLSSD I am sorry I was not able to meet but maybe next time
No other radio station can lift us like the BRIDGE 95.7

    Thank you,

    Andrew

    Hi Tim,

The new "The Bridge" is absolutely wonderful. I haven't heard some of these songs in years. It sure takes me back years, all the memories. I'm so glad there was a change. Thank you.

    Enjoying the great music,

Thanks for playing great music! It provides us Northlanders with some artificial sunshine!

I can't imagine how I am going to feel with the sun does actually shine! Liz

Hey I really really really like the new format!!!!! These are all the songs that I grew up on. I was really surprised when I turned on the radio and you guys had the new name and great music. The only thing I miss is the morning mind bender, that was alot of fun during the morning commute. Thanks again, PST OUT

    HOLY COW,

Been listening for the last hour... Music is excellent! Great mix all the songs make sense. It does sounds strange to hear song to song segues.. not bad, just takes time to get used to. VERY listen able!. Again HOLY COW!

    Have a great day,

    Jay

I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT "THE BRIDGE" IS WONDERFUL. I ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE RADIO AT WORK AND IN MY CAR. PREVIOUSLY I WAS A CHANNEL SURFER BECAUSE I AM FICKLE WHEN IT COMES TO MUSIC. I GET EASILY BORED AND WANT A VARIETY THAT I COULD NOT GET BEFORE.

NOW I HAVE NO REASON TO CHANGE CHANNELS BOTH WORK AND CAR ARE SET TO 95.7 AND ARE STAYING THERE. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE VARIETY FROM SONG TO SONG.

    THANK YOU,

    DAWN
    SUPERIOR

Finally a station we all can agree on at work!! Thanks for not repeating songs day after day, a real good mix!

    Good Afternoon,

I haven't heard Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds lately but now I am. Brings back memories. I love the station.

Any chance for an all request lunch hour???

I just wanted to let you know that I really like the new radio station. :-) It's filling a niche that hasn't been filled very well before!

I love the new 95.7 the Bridge. I never have to change stations in the car anymore. All the music I like is combined into one station now! I miss Delilah but I love the new station. Keep up the good work!

I love, love, LOVE the new format! (liked the old one, love the new one)

I've got your station tuned in at work, home, and in my car. Tim Roubik and KJ are still going to be on-air personalities at the station with the new format. I'm a part-time KTCO listener as well, but have listened to 95.7 more since they made the move there.

    Can't wait to hear more.

    Take care,
